Relation of plasm homocysteine and methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase gene polymorphisms in patients with essential hypertension in Han in Yulin of Guangxi
Abstract：Objective Discussion the relationship of plasma homocysteine (Hcy) levels and N 5,10-methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) C677T polymorphism and essential hypertension in Han in Yulin of Guangxi.Methods A total of 400 Han nationality of Yulin,peripheral blood in 200 EH patients and 200 normaltensive (NT) subjects.The homocysteine and other biochemical indicators levels were detected of automatic biochemical analyzer.Extracting DNA,the MTHFR C677T genotype in two groups were discover with polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP).Results Hcy levels of the two groups was statistically significant (P＜0.05).The frequency expressed of CC,CT,TT three genotypes in EH group and NT group,respectively 27％,49.5％,23.5％ and 40％,45.5％,14.5％,CT high mutation frequency.The frequency of C and T allele was 51.75％ and 48.25％ in EH group,and 62.75％ and 37.25％ in NT group.Three genotype frequencies and allele genes of the two groups was statistically significant(P＜0.05).The frequency of genotype TT and T allele of two groups was statistically significant(P＜0.05).In EH group,the level of Hcy type TT was higher than that of type CC and type CT.Logistic regression showed that CT+TT genotype,Hcy may be.a risk factor for EH.Conclusion Elevated levels of Hcy and the MTHFR C677T gene polymorphism may be related to the occurrence of EH in the Han nationality in Yulin area of Guangxi,the T allele may be a susceptibility gene in this population.Hcy level,MTHFR C677T gene polymorphism may have a certain clinical value for the prediction and treatment of EH in the region.
