The association between the severity of coronary artery disease and estimated glomerular filtration rate
Abstract:Objective To study the association between the severity of coronary artery disease and estimated glomerular filtration rate. Methods 425 patients who underwent coronary angiography in cardiovascular department,Meitan General Hospital were divided into four groups as no coronary heart disease group, single branch lesions group, double branch lesions group and three branch lesions group based on the result of coronary angiography.Clinical data and related biochemical parameters were collected.Estimated glomerular filtration rate(eGFR) was calculated by modified modification of diet in renal disease(MDRD) formula. And we investigated the association between the severity of coronary artery disease and eGFR.Results The level of serum creatinine in three branch lesions group was significantly higher than that of single branch lesions group [(123.72±165.88)μmol/L vs (73.26±21.18)μmol/L,P<0.05].In three branch lesions group eGFR was lower than that of single branch lesions and double branch lesions group [(85.23±34.73)ml·min-1· 1.73m-2 vs (98.33±34.62)ml·min-1· 1.73m-2,(85.23±34.73)ml·min-1· 1.73m-2 vs (96.30±32.84)ml·min-1· 1.73m-2,P<0.05].Logistic regression analysis showed that eGFR had a negative correlation with three branch lesions compared with double branch lesions group(OR =0.987,95%CI 0.977-0.997,P=0.014).Compared with single branch lesions group, serum creatinine and three branch lesions were positively related (0R=1.022,95%CI 1.003-1.040,P=0.021).Conclusion Compared with coronary artery single branch lesions group,eGFR was the independent risk factor for patients with coronary artery three branch lesions. The result of this study demonstrates that decreased renal function is associated the severity of coronary artery disease.
