Relation between sex hormones and VEGF in postmenopausal women with cardiac syndrome X
Abstract:Objective To evaluate the relationship between serum sex hormones and VEGF in postmenopausal women with cardiac syndrome X (CSX).Methods After selecting postmenopausal women with cardiac syndrome X 55 patients (experimental group) and in healthy non-cardiac syndromeX postmenopausal women 50 cases (control group) in this study.ELISA was used to measure the serum levels of sex hormones and VEGF,which includes the determination of the sex hormone estradiol, luteinizing hormone (LH),follicle-stimulating hormone estrogen (FSH),progesterone and testosterone. Results Compared with the healthy control group, the concentration of plasma VEGF was significantly lower [(45.6±12.0)ng/m1 vs (85.5±13.0)ng/ml,P<0.05],plasma estradiol was also lower[(32.2±6.1)pg/ml vs (65.4±12.6)pg/ml,P<0.05].The levels of LH was significantly higher in CSX than that in healthy control group[(26.90±7.10)mIU/ml vs (4.50±2.54)mIU/ml,P<0.05].The levels of serum FSH also significantly higher than the control group [(60.20±17.90)mIU/ml vs (7.45±3.10)mIU/ml,P<0.05];estradiol/testosterone the ratio was significantly lower [(43.85±34.53) vs (96.8±50.3),P<0.05];linear correlation analysis showed,CSX serum estradiol and VEGF was a significant positive correlation (r=0.667,P<0.05).To VEGF as the dependent variable multiple linear regression analysis showed that estradiol and LH were closely related with VEGF (t=2.403,P<0.05).Conclusion Lack of estrogen in postmenopausal women with CSX inhibit the release of VEGF,which led to generate restricted coronary capillaries, leading to the occurrence of coronary microcirculation dysfunction.
