Abstract:In order to study the effects of nitrogen(N)reduction combined with the application of microbial fertilizer on the growth, yield and quality of Chinese cabbage, the widely cultivated variety Chunguan from the Longzhong area of Gansu province was used as the experimental materials.Field trials were conducted with treatments including no nitrigen fertilizer(CK),nitrigen reduction by 0%(SF1),10%(SF2),20%(SF3),30%(SF4),along with the applicaiton of microbial fertilizer(1200 kg·hm-2).The study aimed to explore the effects of nitrogen reduction combined with microbial biofertilizer on Chinese cabbage growth, yield, soil physical and chemical properties, and fertilizer use efficiency, providing a theoretical baisis for nitrogen reduction and efficiency improvement in local Chinese cabbage cultivation. The results showed that compared with SF1,SF2 and SF3 treatments promoted plant growth(increased plant height and leaf bulb width)by decreasing soil EC value(3.3%-10.4%),increasing soil organic matter content(15.5%-30.4%),enhancing soil enzyme activity, and increasing quick-acting nutrient content, which resulted in an increase in Chinese cabbage yield, vitamin C,soluble sugar content, and nitrogen fertilizer use efficiency by 3.1%-7.5%,10.5%-23.1%,13.3%-23.2%,and 9.5%-23.3%,respectively,with SF3 superior to SF2.However,compared with SF1,SF4 reduced soil enzyme activity and soil quick-acting nutrient content, which slowed plant growth, resulting in a decrease in the yield and nitrogen fertilizer use efficiency by 3.1%and 9.7%,respectively.Therefore,in the Chinese cabbage cultivation in Longzhong region,it is recommended to reduce the traditional nitrigen application by 20%and apply microbial fertilizer. This approach can pro-mote the growth of Chinese cabbage by improving the physicochemical properties of the soil and nutrient supply capacity, thereby increasing the yield, quality, and fertilizer use efficiency.
