Research progress on the mechanism of pepper response to low temperature stress and cold protection measure

Abstract：Pepper is a vegetable with the largest planting area at home and abroad,and it is rich in nutrients. The extreme cold climate restricts the growth and development of pepper,which seriously affects the economic value of pepper. Therefore,the study of low temperature tolerance is essential to guide the production and breeding of pepper. With the development of multi-omics combined analysis technology,the research on cold tolerance of pepper has been continuously promoted. In this paper,the research progress of the response mechanism of low-temperature stress in pepper was expounded from the aspects of growth and development changes,physiological and metabolic changes,photosynthetic effects,cold tolerance evaluation system and molecular mechanism. In this paper,the cold damage prevention technology of pepper was summarized according to the relevant mechanism,and the existing problems and future research directions were discussed,aiming to provide a theoretical and technical basis for the in-depth research and application of cold resistance of pepper.
