Storage effect of different pestcides on yam seed tubers

Abstract：Yam is always cultivated by asexual reproduction,and the mainly method is yam seed tubers propagation.It takes several months from harvest to planting in the process of storage.The yam seed tuber is easy to decay during storage,which greatly restricts the development of the yam industry.In order to reduce the loss of yam seed tuber in storage,'Daiwa Long'yam which was the main cultivar in Shandong province was used in this research,the effect of different pestcides on yam seed tubers at room temperature were studied.The results showed that the rate of decaying were both 0 under the treatments of 25％ prochloraz EC and 30％ ethylicin EC,the yam of which exhibited the best effect with no decay.As the yam will be corroded by high concentration of ethylicin,it is suggested to treat yam seed tuber with prochloraz.
