Identification of watermelon varieties purity using SSR markers

Abstract：In the study,SSR markers were used to screen polymorphic primers between'Xuelong No.3'watermelon cultivar and their parents,and to identify seed purity of'Xuelong No.3'.Results showed that the two (BVWS02048 and BVWS00106) of 23 core SSR primers has be more polymorphic at'Xuelong No.3'hybrids and their parents.Subsequently,the two pairs of primers were used to determine the purity of'Xuelong No.3',and their purification results were 98％,which was up to 99％ prediction matches morphological analysis.These results indicated that a purity identification of 'Xuelong No.3'using SSR molecular markers is viable.Simultaneously,the uniform results of these two pairs of primers also verified the authenticity of cultivar.
