Screening and evaluation on important quality traits of small fruit type tomato germplasm resources

Abstract：We analyzed 56 common tomato varieties on the market in order to select some small fruit type tomato varieties with high comprehensive quality.Through the determination of 9 characters on fruit hardness,EC,pH,SSC (soluble solids contents),(a/b)2,fruit weight,fruit shape index,pulp index and ventricle number,combining the theory of grey relation analysis,the comprehensive characters of the top 10 varieties on fruit hardness index,EC,pH and SSC were 0.29-0.29,0.91-5.96,4.60-6.33,4.25-4.58 and 7.27-10.00 respectively.Fruit shape index,ventricle number and (a/b)2 had no reference value to the quality evaluation.Tomato quality correlation analysis showed that some characters were significant positive correlation,some were significant negative correlation.The results showed that there was a close and complicated relationship between the different characters.It could be seen through correlation analysis that the top ten varieties of comprehensive traits were 426,504,114,458,524,456,74,457,508 and 529,and the correlation was between 0.744 3-0.825 3.It had guidance significance to breeding small fruit type tomato.
