Breeding of new melon cultivar 'Yinmi 58'

Abstract：'Yinmi 58'is an F1 hybrid melon which derived from a cross between the female inbred line of 'B08-1-5-12-4-8-6-5-2'and the male inbred line of ' BX2-3-11-8-6-7-3-3-1'.The fruit shape is high round.The rind and flesh are both white.The single fruit weight is about 1.5 kg,and central soluble solid content is about 15％.It is of high edible quality with crisp and sweet taste.The fruit developing period in spring is about 33-37 days,the whole developing period is about 95-125 days.' Yinmi 58'has good early maturity and low temperature resistance,which is suitable for facilities cultivation in spring in east china with average production 30 740 kg· hm-2.
