Breeding of a new watermelon hybrid ‘Ruilong'

Abstract：‘Ruilong'is a new watermelon variety bred by Hefei Fengle Seed Co.,Ltd..It is developed by using inbred line ‘FLW03213'as female parent and inbred line ‘FLW05213'as male parent.The whole growing period is 108 days,fruit development period is about 35 days.The fruit is elliptic shaped with light green surface and dark green stripes.The flesh is red,fine,crisp and sweet.The center soluble solid content is more than 11.5％.It produces vigorous plant,sets fruit easily.The average fruit weight is 6-8 kg,and the yield per 667 m2 is about 3 500 kg.It is suitable for cultivation under plastic film mulching prouduction in north China and the Yangtze River.
