Cost-benefit analysis of China's watermelon production

Abstract：This article analyzed costs,benefits and cost-benefit of China's watermelon production in the aspects of crops for rotation,seeding method,cuhivation method and different varieties,based on national data,during 2010 and 2016,of China Agriculture Research System.The results showed that,the watermelons of different planting time or different maturation time had been spread in order to meet the demands of consumers and increase farmer's income.But at the present stage,the watermelons that seeding in spring-summer,culture in open,early-mid ripening,seedling and grafting took big part.The structure of crops for rotation and seeding method was in line with cost-benefit order.But sunlight greenhouse cultivation and seedless watermelon with higher cost-benefit was in smaller planting area,the area proportion was 0.28％ and 9.15％ respectively.Open field culture and early-mid ripening with lower cost-benefit was in bigger planting area,the area proportion was 53.48％ and 49.01％.The structure of cultivation method and variety still need further adjustment.
