Breeding of a new pepper cultivar ' Qingguodiwang'

Abstract：'Qingguodiwang' is a new mid-early mature pepper variety obtained by crossing inbred line 'P-10-16' as female parent and 'P-09-31' as male parent.It takes about 47.7 days from planting to the first harvest in spring,and the whole growth period is 163.7 days.The plant is about 59.2 cm hall and 59.7 cm wide with moderate growth potential.The first flower occurs at 10.7th node.The fruit is in green color at green-ripening stage,bull-hull shaped with little wrinkles.The fruit is about 18.0 cm in length and 5.4 cm in width,0.36 cm in flesh thickness,ventricle number about 2.7,average fruit weight about 84.5 g,the yield is 2 869 kg per 667 m2,the fruit numbers of single plant is 16.7.The good quality fruit with the vitamin C content of 59.2 mg per 100 g,moisture content of 91.4％ and crude fiber of 0.85％.This variety is resistant to TMV,anthrax and epidemic disease in the field.It can be cultivated in the most parts of the country.
