A new seedless watermelon variety 'Ice flower'

Abstract：'Ice flower'is a new triploid seedless watermelon by crossing tetraploid line'Ice flower 4x'as female parent with diploid line'91-18'as male parent.It's a mid maturity variety.The total growing period is about 103-108 days,and the fruit development period is about 33 days.The fruit has beautiful appearance,globular shaped with fruit index 1.1,marked on light green surface with dark green stripes and wax powder.The average fruit weight is about 6.0 kg.Fruit skin is hard with above 20 kg· cm-2 hardness.The peach red fresh is crisp with soluble solid content 12％ in center.It has few small white blighted seed traces,enriched juice,good profile and good flavor quality.It is about 5 000 kg yield per 667 m2.The variety has good adaptability to simplified cultivation and can be grown in most watermelon production areas in the Yangtze River and Yellow River basin.
