Comparative experiment of purple eggplant in spring of Henan

Abstract：In this research,seven purple-eggplant varieties in Henan province were used,and the experiment was carried out in spring open field to select the suitable varieties.The results showed that the total yield of ‘Zhuqie No.12’,‘Pingqie No.7’ and ‘ Shangqie No.1’ were higher than those of ‘ Zhengyanzaoziqie’,which had better resistance to diseases,good quality,good commercial value and higher yield,and the yield increased by 16.43％,16.14％ and 15.43％,respectively,compared with control.The average content of vitamin C was 6.08 mg· 100 g-1,the soluble sugar contents were 2.72％,3.05％,2.63％ and the contents of calcium were 128,141,139 mg·kg-1,all of them were higher than those of control.Those three varieties are suitable for cultivation in Henan province.
