A new watermelon cultivar'Mofenglong'

Abstract：'Mofenglong'is a new F1 hybrid of mid-maturing watermelon variety which is developed by crossing inbred line 'Zhong 9-32'as male parent and'G8-2'as female parent.The growing period is about 92 days and fruit developing period is about 35 days.Its plant grows vigorously.Its fruit is oval shape and the fruit shape index is 1.4 with dark green skin covered with dark green stripe.The flesh is pink,total soluble solids is10.5％ in centre and 8.1％ in edge.The average fruit weight is 4.5 kg.The rind is about 1.1 cm in thickness,with excellent hardness and storage quality.The variety has strong adaptability and is suitable for middle late cultivation in Shanxi province and its surrounding areas.
