Abstract：‘Guoxiu’ is a new watermelon variety,which is bred by ‘M-314’ as female parent and ‘F-241’as male parent.The growing period is about 80 days and fruit developing period is about 28 days.It is average vigorous,easy to set fruit and expansion rapidly.The first female flower is at 6th-7th node,and followed by a female flower every 4-5 node.The fruit is round with green skin and dark green stripes,covered with white wax powder.The average fruit weight is 4-6 kg.The rind is 1.1 cm in thickness and durable.The flesh is crisp with center soluble solid content 11％.The variety has strong adaptability and it is suitable for cultivation in most watermelon production areas in China.
