Influences of different irrigation methods and pruning patterns on the plant growth and fruit characters of watermelon in protected production

Abstract：Watermelon variety‘Hongheping’was used to discuss the influence of different irrigation methods and pruning patterns on the plant growth and fruit characters of watermelon in protected production. The results showed that the plant height and stem diameter were significantly affectedby different irrigation methods and pruning patterns,and leaf number, photosynthesis rate,thickness and soluble solids were little affected. The plants treated by drip irrigation and double cross training had more reasonable leaf density,d the highest average fruit weight and yield,this treatment was considered as one of the best cultivation management pattern.
