A new watermelon cultivar‘Milong’

Abstract：‘Milong’is a new F1 hybrid watermelon variety which is developed by crossing inbred line‘792’as female par?ent and‘X8-23’as male parent. The growing period is about 87 days and fruit developing period is about 30 days. The plant grows vigorously. The single fruit weight is about 3.7 kg with oval shaped and the fruit shape index is 1.3. The flesh is red with center sugar content 11.1%. The rind is durable with 1.1 cm in thickness. The variety has strong adaptability and is suitable for early cultivation in Jinnan,Jinzhong,Changzhi and Xinzhou of Shanxi province .
