Abstract:As experiment material, two cucumber inbred lines predominately gynoecious‘G5-2’and gynoecious‘298’ were used to research the effect of inducing male flowers by different concentrations of different chemical reagents (gibberellic acid, silver nitrate and silver thiosulfate) in different cucumber seedling stages. The results showed that, for predominately gynoecious material, 800 mg·L-1 gibberellic acid could be the best reagent and concentration to induce male flowers most when the seedlings were treated one time in first true leaf stage and second true leaf stage. For gynoecious material, 600 mg · L-1 silver thiosulfate could be the best reagent to induce male flowers when the treatment was happened one time in the first true leaf stage and the third true leaf stage. The results had very important directive meaning and application value for cucumber male flowers inducing.
