Effects of exogenous sucrose on quality and yield of flowering Chinese cabbage

Abstract：In order to improve the nutrition value and comprehensive quality of flowering Chinese cabbage, ’Youlv 501’ was used as experimental material, the effects of different sucrose concentrations on quality and yield of flowering Chinese cabbage were investigated by method of leaf surface spraying. The results showed that the content of total soluble sugar of flowering Chinese cabbage could be significantly increased by 0.1 g·L-1 and 0.2 g·L-1 sucrose, the contents of total phenolic, total glucosinolates and anthocyanin of the ones treated by 0.2 g · L-1 and 0.4 g · L-1 sucrose weresignificantly increased, the sucrose concentrations had little influence on the yield of individual plant. Therefore, the nutritional value of flowering Chi?nese cabbage could be increased by spraying 0.2 g·L-1 sucrose.
