Abstract：‘Yugan No. 5’is a new cabbage hybrid cultivar,whose parents are double haploid lines‘C28-23’and‘C55-17’induced by isolated microspore culture. It is characterized by good quality,early maturing,wide adaptation,resis?tance to turnip mosaic virus,black rot and downy mildew. Head compactness degree is 0.67,the center core is 5.1 cm in length less than half of the head height. It takes about 65 days or so from planting to harvesting and has nearly round head with tender,crisp leaves.The mean yield is 3 582.1 kg per 667 m2. It is suitable for production in most areas of China,es?pecially in north China.
