Research on the Current Situation of Mental Health Service Facilities and Beds in Shanghai in 2015
Abstract:Objective:To find out the current situation of mental health service facilities and beds in Shanghai in order to provide basis for making regional mental health planning from 2016 to 2020.Methods:Descriptive analyses were conducted on the quantities,qualities,sponsors,distributions and bed density,et al.Results:Up to 2015,64 mental health services facilities and 14 267 psychiatric beds were in Shanghai,the mean number of psychiatric beds was 5.91 per 10 000 of the population.Most(71.88%) of the mental health facilities were psychiatric hospital and general hospital.Psychiatric beds were chielfly(86.4%) distributed in psychiatric hospitals and gathered in Jingan,Xuhui,Huangpu and Hongkou District.Conclusion:The amount of mental health resource allocation should be increased.The structure and spatial distribution were inappropriate to the region's present and future needs.The development of non-state mental hospitals should be promoted.
