The Impact of Economic Development and Health Investment on Maternal and Child Health in "Newborn Health Projest Area"
Abstract：Objective:To explore the contribution of economic development and health investment on maternal and child health,and put forward policy advices based on the results.Methods:The panel data of Qinghai,Ningxia,Sichuan and Guizhou in China from 2008 to 2015 were analyzed by panel-data regression method.Results:Both GDP per capital and government investment for maternal and child health had significant effects on maternal mortality rate.Conclusion:Central and local governments should continue to increase maternal and child health investment while maintaining the sound development of local economy.The growth in the maternal and child health investment should be in line with the improvement of local infrastructures,educational level and quality of healthcare.
