The Empirical Research of the Influence Factors of Urban Residents’ Medical Demand in China

Abstract:Objective: To explore the influencing factors of urban residents’ medical demand in China, so as to improve the utilization efficiency of medical resource. Methods: Based on the panel data of 30 provinces from 2003 to 2012, the empirical research was empirically analyzed from three factors including economic factor, demographic factor and environmental factor. Results: Disposable income, medical price, medical insurance, wastewater discharge and non-industrial gas have significant influences on the medical demanding of the urban residents. Conclusion:Raising the residents’ capacity to pay and improving the urban wastewater pollution are the key points to increase the efficiency of the medical resource utilization.
