Results and Analysis of China National Health Accounts in 2012
Abstract:Objective:To produce China National Health Accounts 2012 and analyze health financing status since new-round health system reform. Methods: To estimate total expenditure on health based on system of health accounts, including financing sources and providers. Results: China total expenditure on health ( TEH) in 2012 was 2 811.90 billion RMB, equivalent to 5.41% of GDP. Of the TEH in 2012, the share of government health expenditure was 29.99% and out-of-pocket ( OOP) health expenditure has dropped to 34.34%. Comparing to 2011, the share of government health expenditure declined and the decreasing speed of OOP share has been slow.
