Empirical Analysis on Outpatient Costs of Township Hospitals in a Certain Country Based on Urban-Rural Integration
Abstract: Objective: To provide information for controlling the rural residents’ medical expenses effectively by pointing out the main factors which influence outpatients medical expense since the integration of urban and rural medical insurance has been implemented. Methods: Compare the average cost spent by patients of different gender, age, and type of diseases, and use SAS9.1 statistical software to analyze these different factors. Results: (1) the 90%of the costs are controlled within RMB 100; (2) the average outpatient cost remained within RMB 60 in 2010 and 2011, but costs on coronary heart disease, hypertension and other chronic diseases increased, and the number of patients increased obviously; (3) the number of some common chronic diseases is increasing, and the patients tend to be younger in rural areas. Conclusion: It is necessary to strengthen the medical construction of township health centers, and improve health education and health care on some common diseases and chronic diseases for rural residents.
