Study on the Utilization of Essential Medicine in Community Health Service Institutions in Nantong
Abstract: Objective: To survey the utilization of essential medicine in community health service institutions in Nantong. Methods:7667 prescriptions from 6 community health service institutions in Nantong were selected by stratified cluster sampling in 2009—2011. The determinants of drug utilization were analyzed by negative binomial regression and logistic regression. Results: The utilization rate of essential medicine increased year by year, and the utilization rate of provincial essential medicine lists increased faster than the national essential medicine list. Conclusion: Government should implement national essential medicine list further and strengthen propagandizing and training of essential medicine to improve the access to essential medicine.
