A Case of Pituitary Apoplexy Combined with Internal Carotid Artery Compression and Acute Cerebral Infarction
Abstract:Objective To summarize the clinical characteristics and related treatment experience of patients with pituitary apoplexy combined with internal carotid artery compression and acute cerebral infarction, in order to provide more effective treatment references for clinical treatment. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of one patient with pituitary apoplexy combined with internal carotid artery compression and acute cerebral infarction, who was treated with transnasal endoscopic pituitary tumor resection. Relevant literature was reviewed. Results After surgery, the internal carotid artery remained patent, and the patient's clinical symptoms were significantly improved. During a two-year follow-up after surgery, no tumor recurrence was observed, the pituitary hormone levels were normal, and the patient had a good prognosis. Conclusion Patients with pituitary apoplexy combined with internal carotid artery compression and acute cerebral infarction have severe conditions and rapid progression. Prompt diagnosis and early surgery are key to improving the prognosis.
