Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of biological stimulation feedback therapy combined with upper limb strength training on pediatric patients with upper limb dysfunction after traumatic brain injury(TBI)surgery. Methods A prospective study was conducted involving 102 pediatric patients with upper limb dysfunction after TBI surgery, who were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, with 51 patients in each using a random number table. The control group received upper limb strength training, while the observation group received a combination of biological stimulation feedback therapy and upper limb strength training. The upper limb motor function, functional independence, grip strength, daily living activity ability, and muscle strength were compared between two groups. Results After treatment, the observation group showed statistically significant higher scores in the Fugl-Meyer Assessment of Upper Extremity(FMA-UE),Functional Independence Measure for Children(WeeFIM),grip strength,Modified Barthel Index(MBI),and muscle strength grade compared to the control group(all P<0.05).Conclusions Biological stimulation feedback therapy combined with upper limb strength training can enhance muscle strength and grip strength in pediatric patients with upper limb dysfunction after TBI surgery. This combined therapy results in more favorable improvements in functional independence, upper limb motor function, and activities of daily living in these patients.
