Abstract:Objective To investigate the efficacy of neuroendoscopic hematoma evacuation in the treatment of hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage (HICH). Methods The clinical data of 80 patients with HICH were analyzed retrospectively. The patients were divided into a control group (n=40,treated with minimally invasive hematoma puncture and drainage) and an observation group (n=40,treated with neuroendoscopic hematoma evacuation) based on the treatment method. The hematoma evacuation rate, neurological function, levels of inflammatory factors, and incidence of complications were compared between the two groups. Results One day after surgery, the residual hematoma volume was (6.56±1.40) ml in the observation group and (12.36±3.32) ml in the control group, with the observation group having a lower volume. The hematoma evacuation rate was (90.64±3.36)% in the observation group and (73.75±4.52)% in the control group, with the observation group having a higher rate (both P<0.05). Three months after surgery, the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score was (6.54±2.38) in the observation group and (8.76±2.43) in the control group, with the observation group having a lower score (P<0.05). The levels of C-reactive protein, procalcitonin, tumor necrosis factor-α,and interleukin-6 were also lower in the observation group compared with the control group (all P<0.05). The incidence of complications was 5.0% in the observation group and 22.5% in the control group, with the observation group having a lower incidence (P<0.05). Conclusions Neuroendoscopic hematoma evacuation for HICH results in a higher hematoma evacuation rate, effectively improves neurological function, and reduces the incidence of complications.
