Abstract:Objective To explore the application of robot-assisted stereotactic brain biopsy in the clinical diagnosis of deep brain lesions. Methods The clinical data of 22 patients with deep brain lesions, who underwent stereotactic brain biopsy procedure with the assistance of robot were analyzed retrospectively. Results A total of 27 target biopsies were performed in the 22 patients(including 5 cases of 2 targets). All the patients received final pathological diagnoses through routine pathological examination, with a positive diagnostic rate of 100%.The diagnoses included 1 case of aggressive B-cell lymphoma,4 cases of diffuse B-cell lymphoma,5 cases of high-grade gliomas(GradeⅢ-Ⅳ),7 cases of low-grade gliomas(GradeⅠ-Ⅱ),2 cases of germ cell tumors,2 cases of metastatic tumors, and 1 case of inflammatory granuloma. One patient presented with hematoma at the puncture site without clinical symptoms. Conclusions Robot-assisted stereotactic brain lesion biopsy is a brain biopsy technique that can be achieved through minimally invasive incision, and it has the advantages of high puncture precision, high diagnostic rate, flexible operation, and low complications, thus being worth to be promoted in the clinical application.
