Abstract:Objective To summarize the clinical experience of transradial access(TRA)and transfemoral access(TFA)in cerebral angiography. Methods The clinical data of 200 patients undergoing cerebral angiography were analyzed retrospectively.Patients were divided into two groups based on the angiographic access:TRA group(100 cases)and TFA group(100 cases). The total procedure time, fluoroscopy time, procedure success rate, hospitalization time, procedure complications, postoperative patient comfort and satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results There was no significant difference in the procedural success rate between the two accesses of cerebral angiography(P=0.897).The median total operative time was 52.1min(range 42.7-60.0min)in the TFA group and 45.7 min(range 38.4-56.2min)in the TRA group, the median fluoroscopy time was 23.1 min(range 18.8-27.5min)in the TFA group and 16.4 min(range 10.7-19.1min)in the TRA group, and the hospitalization time was(158.7±14.4)h in the TFA group and(128.8±20.2)h in the TRA group.Compared with the TFA group, the total operation time, fluoroscopy time and hospitalization time were significantly shorter in the TRA group(P<0.05).In terms of complications, the total complication rate was 26.0%in the TFA group, with puncture site complication 20.0%and systemic complications 6.0%,while the TRA group was 11.0%,8.0%,and 3.0%,respectively,and the TRA group was lower than the TFA group(P<0.05).Postoperative comfort and satisfaction scores were higher in TRA group than in TFA group(P<0.05).Conclusions The procedural success rate of TRA cerebral angiography is not inferior to TFA in the procedural success rate, and can reduce the incidence of postoperative complications and improve patient comfort and satisfaction after the procedure.
