Abstract:Objective To study the safety and effectiveness of the split laminotomy of thoracic vertebrae via posterior midline spinous process. Methods Thoracic vertebrae of 6 fresh frozen specimens were splited segment by segment via the posterior midline spinous process, and the width of the suture was 8mm,10mm,and 12mm using a special lamina opener.Three fresh frozen specimens simulated the split laminotomy of thoracic vertebrae via posterior midline spinous process, and the exposure range and surgical area structure were observed under the microscope. Results The expansion slit width was within 12mm,and the safety distance obtained by the experiment was not fracture. The surgical operation space with a suture width of 12mm was sufficient, and the degree of instrument freedom was high, and the tumor in the spinal canal can be removed. Conclusion The split laminotomy of thoracic vertebrae via posterior midline spinous process is a safe and effective way to treat tumors in the thoracic spinal canal.
