Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of audiovisual integration stimulation combined with neuromuscular electrical stimulation in the treatment of coma patients with traumatic brain injury, and to analyze its impact on the degree of neurological impairment and brainstem auditory evoked potential. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on 80 patients with traumatic brain injury and coma.According to the treatment plan, they were divided into a control group of 40 cases and an observation group of 40 cases. The control group was given neuromuscular electrical stimulation therapy, while the observation group was given auditory-visual integration stimulation combined with neuromuscular electrical stimulation therapy for 4 consecutive weeks. The clinical efficacy, recovery rate, and recovery time were compared between the two groups,as well as the Glasgow Coma Scale(GCS),electroencephalogram(EEG)score, brainstem auditory evoked potential[wave latency(waveⅠ,waveⅡ,waveⅢ),peak latency(waveⅠ-Ⅲ,waveⅢ-Ⅳ,waveⅠ-Ⅳ)],quality of life[quality of life core scale(QLQ-C30)]before and after treatment. Results The recovery time of the observation group was 22.63±5.57d,which was shorter than 26.52±6.74d of the control group, the total effective rate of the observation group was 90.00%,which was higher than 70.00%of the control group, the recovery rate of the observation group was 77.50%,which was higher than 55.00%of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);After treatment, compared with the control group, the GCS and EEG scores in the observation group were higher(P<0.05),the wave latency of waveⅠ,waveⅡ,and waveⅢwere lower, and the interpeak latency of waveⅠ-Ⅲ,wave Ⅲ-Ⅳ,and wave Ⅰ-Ⅳ were lower,too(P<0.05);compared with the control group, the quality of life score in the observation group was higher after treatment(P<0.05).Conclusion The treatment of brain trauma coma patients using the audiovisual integration stimulation combined with neuromuscular electrical stimulation has a definite therapeutic effect, which can improve the recovery rate, shorten the recovery time, promote the recovery of consciousness disorders, improve the pathophysiological state of the brain, and improve brainstem auditory evoked potentials, reduce nerve damage, and improve quality of life.
