Clinical analysis of cognitive change after gamma knife treatment in patients with meningioma

Abstract:Objective To explore the cognitive change after gamma knife treatment in patients with meningioma.Methods Clinical data of 56 patients with meningioma were analyzed retrospectively.Montreal cognitive assessment (MoCA) Chinese version was used to assess the cognitive function preoperation,6,12 months after the operation,then,statistical analysis was performed.Results There was statistical significance in differences of visuospatial/executive ability,instantaneous memory/delayed recall and attention score preoperation,6,12 months after the operation (P < 0.05).After pairwise comparison,significant difference was found between preoperation and 6 months after the operation (P < 0.05),while no significant difference between any other two groups (P > 0.05).Conclusion Temporary cognitive disorder occurs in meningioma patients after gamma knife treatment,and the long-term cognitive function needs following analysis.
