Abstract:Objective To explore the technique for interventional embolization combined with microsurgery for the treatment of large scalp arteriovenous malformation (AVM).Methods Clinical data of 2 patients with large scalp AVM were analyzed retrospectively, and interventional embolization combined with microsurgical resection was performed in the 2 patients. Results Total AVM resection was achieved in 2 patients with less bleeding after embolizing the deep feeding artery, and no complication occurred after the operation.During 6 months follow-up period,no patient recurred. Conclusion Preoperative interventional embolization can effectively reduce surgical risks and complications for large scalp AVM.
