Abstract:Objective To evaluate the efficacy of tirofiban in acute thrombosis during embolization for intracranial aneurysms. Methods Clinical data of 8 patients with intraoperative acute thrombosis during embolization of intracranial aneurysms were analyzed retrospectively, and tirofiban was infused into guiding catheter in every patient. Results The vascular recanalization was achieved in 7 patients with mTICI grade 3, and no related complications occurred postoperatively, and no rebleeding or new cerebral infarction was found according to CT reexamination. While partial recanalization was achieved in 1 patient with mTICI grade 2b, and contralateral limb hemiplegia with myodynamia of grade 3 occurred after surgery, and cerebral infarction in the central gyrus was found by CT reexamination. Conclusion Infusion of tirofiban into guiding catheter is safe and effective for the treatment of thrombosis during embolization of intracranial aneurysms.
