Effects of discharge planning on daily living ability in patients with heroin spongiform leukoencephalopathy

Abstract:Objective To explore the effects of the discharge planning mode of interdisciplinary cooperation on daily living ability in patients with heroin spongiform leukoencephalopathy (HSLE). Methods Fifty-nine HLSE patients were randomly divided into control group (n=29) and experimental group (n=30) according to the number table. Routine therapy and nursing care were performed in control group, while the individual discharge planning mode of interdisciplinary cooperation was performed in experimental group additionally. The daily living ability and social support degree were assessed by Barthel index (BI) and social support rating scale (SSRS) respectively, then statistical analysis was performed. Results Compared with control group, BI scores increased obviously at 24 h before discharge, and 1 month and 6 months after discharge in experimental group (P<0.05). Compared with control group, the scores of subjective support increased obviously 1 month and 6 months after discharge (P<0.05), and the availability scores from social support also increased obviously 6 months after discharge in experimental group (P< 0.05). Conclusion The discharge planning mode of interdisciplinary cooperation can effectively improve daily living ability and social support degree of HSLE patients.
