Abstract:Objective To investigate the application of three-dimensional (3D) printing technology based on CT angiography (CTA) in the treatment of intracranial aneurysm. Methods DICOM data of 4 patients with intracranial aneurysm were obtained from CTA scan. The skull and blood vessels data were extracted and reconstructed with different segmentation method, and the assembly and integration were achieved in the same coordinate system. The entity models were produced to guide surgery through optimized 3D printing technology. Results The 3D virtual models were reconstructed and the entity anatomical models were produced in 4 patients, which aided in making the surgical plan before the operation and guiding surgical positioning and implementation in the operation. The operation of aneurysm clipping was successful. Conclusion The entity anatomical model obtained from 3D printing technology based on the CTA can assist aneurysm location and reduce intraoperative injury and postoperative complications.
