Abstract:Objective To explore the surgical outcomes of endoscopic surgery via transsylvian-insular approach for basal ganglia hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage. Methods The clinical data of 67 patients with basal ganglia hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage were analyzed retrospectively. All the patients received endoscope-assisted surgery via transsylvian-insular approach. Results The clearance rate of hematoma was >90% in 59 patients and 80%-90% in 8. None suffered re-hemorrhage. During following up period of 6 months after the surgery, the GOS was good recovery in 37 patients, moderate disability in 23, severe disability in 3, vegetative state in 3 and death in 1. Conclusion Endoscope-assisted transsylvian insular surgery is safe and effective for basal ganglia hypertensive hemorrhage due to its such advantages as wide visual field, minimal surgical invasion and fewer complications.
