Abstract:Objective To study the clinical manifestation, diagnosis and treatment of central neurocytoma (CNT). Methods Clinical manifestations, imaging features, pathological features and treatment method of 28 patients with CNT confirmed by pathology were analyzed retrospectively and followed up. Results Tumor total resection was achieved in 20 patients and subtotal resection in 8. The GOS scores 3 months after operation were as follows:5 scores in 12 patients, 4 in 12, 3 in 2 and 1 score in 2. Twenty-four patients receiving standard radiotherapy postoperatively were followed up for mean time of 38 months, ranging from 12 to 120 months, all patients survived without tumor progression and recurrence, and the GOS scores were 4 to 5. Conclusions CNT has a predilection for occurring near the interventricular foramen of the lateral ventricle, is of relatively characteristic imaging findings and notable pathological features, and surgical excision and postoperative radiotherapy are the optimal therapeutic approach, with a better prognosis.
