Abstract:Cardiac surgery, particularly that involving cardiopulmonary bypass(CPB),increases the risk of coagulation dysfunction.Traditional treatment approaches typically rely on the administration of fresh frozen plasma(FFP)to correct co-agulation abnormalities. In recent years, research on prothrombin complex concentrate(PCC)as an alternative to FFP has been steadily increasing.Studies have demonstrated that PCC offers certain advantages over FFP in reducing blood loss and transfu-sion requirements, while maintaining an overall favorable safety profile. However,PCC still exhibits certain limitations, and the data in special patient populations remain uncertain. Therefore, this review comprehensively examines the application of PCC in cardiac surgery, aiming to provide evidence and references for clinical treatment strategies.
