Management and Considerations for Cardiopulmonary Bypass in Patients With Suspected Cold Agglutinin Disease
Abstract:Cold agglutinin disease (CAD) is a rare immune disease mediated by autoantibodies called cold agglutinins (CAs), characterized by reversible agglutination of red blood cells under specific low-temperature conditions, leading to microcirculatory impairment and hemolysis risk. Clinically, the highest temperature at which red blood cell agglutination occurs is defined as the thermal amplitude (TA)[1].
