Abstract:With the progressive advancement of cardiac surgery, cardiopulmonary bypass(CPB)technology has become extensively utilized in this field.Acute kidney injury(AKI)is a prevalent complication following cardiac surgery involving CPB,with an incidence rate reaching up to 30%.AKI not only has the potential to progress to chronic kidney disease but also exhibits a high rate of renal replacement therapy utilization,up to 5%,and a mortality rate as high as 50%.Various perioperative factors can elevate the incidence of CPB-related AKI.By identifying and mitigating these perioperative risk factors, the incidence of AKI and perioperative mortality can be significantly reduced.Current prevention and treatment strategies primarily focus on main-taining renal perfusion and vascular volume, avoiding venous congestion, employing balanced salt solutions, and minimizing the duration of CPB exposure. This article aims to review the impact of AKI on postoperative outcomes, its pathogenesis, and the prevention and treatment strategies for AKI following CPB,drawing on recent studies conducted both domestically and interna-tionally.
