An adverse event report of intubation in extracorporeal membrane oxygenation catheterization
Abstract:1.1 Clinical Data: The patient was a female, 80 years old, admitted due to ① acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction; ② heart failure; ③ hypertension; ④ hypothyroidism. After coronary angiography, the patient developed palpitations, chest pain, and inability to lie flat. On auscultation, there were a few moist rales at the bottom of both lungs. The diagnosis was acute heart failure and cardiogenic shock. Immediate treatment included dopamine and norepinephrine to raise blood pressure, atropine to increase heart rate, dexamethasone for allergy, emergency implantation of intra-aortic balloon counterpump (IABP), and intravenous furosemide to reduce cardiac load, followed by transfer to the ICU.
