Abstract:Real-time monitoring and management of patients' hemodynamic changes during cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) are crucial for ensuring patient safety and favorable outcomes. The detection of regional oxygen saturation (rSO2) based on near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) allows for non-invasive,real-time,and long-term continuous monitoring of rSO2,which has been widely applied in the clinical diagnosis, prognosis, therapeutic efficacy assessment, and neurorehabilitation processes of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. This article will review the basic principles of NIRS,common oxygen saturation indicators, and their application in cardiac surgery, aiming to provide useful information for the prevention and management of complications in patients undergoing CPB.
