The Intervention Effect of Personalized Nutritional Support Program on Colon Cancer Patients from the Perspective of Fitch's Theory

Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of a personalized nutrition support program based on Fitch's theory on the intervention of colon cancer patients.Methods A total of 112 colon cancer patients treated in Baodi District People's Hospital of Tianjin from January 2023 to January 2025 were included and divided into a control group(n=56)who accepted routine nursing intervention,and an observation group(n=56)who accepted personalized nutrition support intervention based on Fitch's theory.The postoperative rapid rehabilitation indicators,and nutritional-anemia indicators between the two groups were compared.And the self-care ability and the quality of life were compared.Results After intervention,the recovery time of bowel sounds,anal exhaust time,first bowel movement time,gastric tube removal time,getting out of bed time,and hospitalization time in the observation group were all shorter than those in the control group(P<0.05).The levels of transferrin,serum albumin,hemoglobin,serum iron,and total iron binding capacity in the observation group were higher than those in the control group,while the levels of serum ferritin were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).The scores of quality of life of the observation group were higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion A personalized nutrition support program based on Fitch's theory can help accelerate postoperative recovery in colon cancer patients,improve nutritional status,and improve patients'quality of life.
