The Efficacy of Semaglutide Combined with Insulin in the Treatment of Obese Type 2 Diabetes and Its Influence on the Physical Indicators of Patients

Abstract：Objective To observe the comprehensive application value of semaglutide combined with insulin for obese type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).Methods One hundred and twenty obese T2DM patients admitted to Beichen Hospital in Tianjin from January 2023 to January 2025 were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group,with 60 patients in each group.The control group received insulin treatment,while the observation group received combined treatment with semaglutide on this basis.The blood glucose indicators,lipid metabolism indicators,and body shape indicators of two groups were compared.Results After treatment,the fasting blood glucose,2-hour postprandial blood glucose,and insulin resistance index in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).The levels of triglycerides,total cholesterol,low-density lipoprotein,and high-density lipoprotein in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).The waist circumference,hip circumference,and waist to hip ratio of the observation group were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Simeglutide combined with insulin can effectively improve glucose and lipid metabolism in obese T2DM patients,and has a good weight loss effect.
