Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of whole-course nursing combined with respiratory function training on early ambulation and the prevention of pulmonary complications in patients undergoing hiatal hernia surgery. Methods A total of 90 patients undergoing hiatal hernia surgery in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University from January 2022 to December 2024 were selected and divided into an observation group and a control group, with 45 cases in each group, according to the random number table method. The control group received conventional nursing, while the observation group received whole-course nursing combined with respiratory function training. The early ambulation time, hospital stay time, incidence of pulmonary complications, pulmonary function and quality of life between the two groups were compared. Results The early ambulation time and hospital stay time of the observation group were significantly shorter than those of the control group(P<0.05).The total incidence of pulmonary complications in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).Seven days after surgery, the lung function of the observation group was significantly better than that of the control group(P<0.05).One month after surgery, the quality of life of the observation group was significantly better than that of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Implementing whole-course nursing combined with respiratory function training for patients undergoing hiatal hernia surgery can effectively promote early ambulation and prevent the occurrence of pulmonary complications. It is worth promoting and using.
