Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of targeted nursing with posture management as the core in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)complicated with respiratory failure undergoing mechanical ventilation. Methods A total of 150 COPD patients with respiratory failure who received mechanical ventilation intervention in Baodi Hospital Affiliated to Tianjin Medical University from November 2022 to November 2024.All patients were divided into a routine nursing group and a targeted nursing group with 75 cases in each group by random number table method. The routine nursing group adopts routine nursing, while the targeted nursing group adopts targeted nursing with posture management as the core. The nursing effect between two groups were compared. Results The duration of mechanical ventilation and ICU stay in the targeted nursing group were significantly shorter than those in the routine nursing group(P<0.05).After intervention, the psychological resilience, negative emotions, sleep quality, and quality of life scores of both groups improved compared to before intervention, and the scores of the targeted nursing group were significantly better than those of the routine nursing group after intervention(P<0.05).The total incidence of complications in the targeted nursing group was significantly lower than that in the routine nursing group, and the nursing satisfaction was significantly higher than that in the routine nursing group(all P<0.05).Conclusion For patients with COPD complicated with respiratory failure undergoing mechanical ventilation treatment, implementing targeted nursing with posture management as the core has good effects, which can promote patient recovery, improve patient psychological resilience, negative emotions, sleep and quality of life, reduce the incidence of complications, and improve nursing satisfaction. It is worth promoting and using.
